MorFabrication operates a UKAS-accredited Quality Management System certified to ISO 9001:2015, with BS EN 1090-1 / BS EN 1090-2 Factory Production Control and BS EN ISO 3834-2:2021 welding quality management — all issued by SCCS (UKAS Notified Body 2273). We are also SafeContractor approved by Alcumus, a UKAS-accredited Type C Inspection body under ISO 17020:2012.
Our scope of certification covers welding, installation and fabrication of load-bearing and welded structural steel components up to Execution Class 2 (EXC 2) per BS EN 1090-2. MorFabrication has been manufacturing precision steelwork from our Washington (Tyne and Wear) facility since 2013.
MorFabrication's Quality Management System is independently certified to BS EN ISO 9001:2015 by SCCS, a UKAS-accredited certification body (Notified Body 2273, UKAS reference 0021). This certification confirms that our processes, document control, customer focus, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation and continual improvement all meet the international quality standard required by main contractors, public-sector clients and procurement-led buyers.
MorFabrication holds a Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate to BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 and BS EN 1090-2:2018+A1:2024, allowing us to UKCA-mark and CE-mark load-bearing and welded structural steel components up to Execution Class 2 (EXC 2). This is the standard required for the vast majority of UK commercial, residential, retail fit-out and industrial structural steelwork.
The FPC certificate is supplied with an annexed Welding Certificate covering the welding processes, base materials, and responsible welding coordinator on site.
MorFabrication is certified to BS EN ISO 3834-2:2021 — the "comprehensive" tier of the international standard for fusion welding quality. This goes beyond general ISO 9001 quality management by specifically addressing welder qualification, welding procedure qualification, equipment, inspection and testing, traceability, non-conformance handling, and welding coordination.
MorFabrication is independently audited and approved by Alcumus SafeContractor, a UKAS-accredited Type C Inspection body certified under ISO 17020:2012 covering the SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) Core Criteria. SafeContractor approval is one of the most widely-recognised health, safety and competence pre-qualifications in UK construction.
For main contractors and architects: we can supply CPR/UKCA-marked structural steel up to Execution Class 2 with full traceability and welding coordination — meeting building regulations for commercial, residential and industrial projects.
For procurement and engineering teams: our ISO 9001:2015 QMS, BS EN 1090 FPC, and BS EN ISO 3834-2 welding quality management satisfy the standard pre-qualification criteria for supplier audits, food-industry suppliers, hospitality fit-out main-contractor schemes, and public-sector frameworks.

MorFabrication has been manufacturing precision bespoke steelwork from our Washington, Tyne and Wear facility since 2013. Our combined fabrication, stainless steel fabrication and in-house powder coating capability is run from one site with one project manager per job.
